We had to turn the air conditioner on again today … isn’t this December? Glad I’m heading north and to the east coast this weekend … will it feel more like Christmas?

You know, I spent Christmas two years ago in northern Australia where it was a hundred and six degrees, and honestly, that was one of the most “Christmasy” Christmases I’d experienced in several years. It was probably because the gifts I got were well thought out, but there weren’t a lot. There wasn’t a lot of retailing going on. There was family and friends and love and happiness.
This year has been good so far insofar as Christmasy feeling is…all of my friends are poor so we are just getting together and grilling for our Christmas parties, I get to go home to my parents for the actual day…It’s great.
James and I were in Fry’s the other day because I needed some landscaping software and we noticed that Christmas really isn’t about the birth of Christ, at least to the majority of the people in Fry’s. The reason why this upsets me is because to hear the rightwingers talk, you’d think it’s all the liberal media/people/homos fault that Christmas has been “commercialised” or whatever…but it seems to me that it’s actually the crowd of people who fill the car park at Fry’s with their SUVs which have W stickers all over them…that’s not the liberals.
End rant. Not sure how much that actually had to do with your post. I find the warmer temperature quite nice.
55 degrees in the Northeast today. Not sure what the actual weather will be on Christmas, but so far the cold weather has been elusive.
