I'm having a convergent moment, because I've been discussing this all day, first on Beliefnet and then on the RevGalBlogPals blog -- the way we've in many cases lost a sense of reverence in worship; lost the sense that our experience in church should be a qualitatively different one than at the mall or the bowling alley. How can we provide an authentic alternative to the dominant culture when we're afraid to be different than the dominant culture?
